SUBMISSIONS / FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: How Do I Submit A Manuscript to RDR Books?
A: RDR welcomes nonfiction book proposals. We publish travel literature, general nonfiction,investigative reporting, humor and contributions to our I Should Have Stayed Home collections.
It is best to mail your proposal to us at 1487 Glen Avenue, Muskegon, Michigan 49441. Please mail a short outline, a sample chapter or two, a brief biography and, if possible, letters of recommendation and other helpful background information. Please be patient and DO NOT send original manuscripts or artwork. We are not responsible for manuscripts lost by the postal service. If you would like to have your submission returned please include a self addressed stamped envelope and your email address.
Please study our list carefully. We recommend taking a look at RDR books related to your subject. They are available at local bookstores and libraries. It is a good idea to have your submission professionally edited. Query letters are encouraged. A sample chapter and previous writing credits are most helpful. You are also welcome to send along letters of endorsement from other writers and editors.

Q: How Can I Submit A Story For Your I Should Have Stayed Home Series?
A: Our I Should Have Stayed Home books are an excellent submission guideline. Look at these books to see the kind of story we are looking for. Stories must be true, between 500 and 1,500 words and should be written in the style of our previous books. A: Our company began in 1991.

Q: Who are the principals?
A: Our staff includes Managing Editor Richard Harris, Office Manager Colleen Weesies, Marketing Director Megan Trank, Director of Distribution Amanda Grycki, Library Events Manager Robert Powell, Website Manager Louis Jeannot, and Publisher Roger Rapoport. Alan Goodworth of Roundhouse Books manages our British and European distribution. Our books are distributed in Canada by Scholarly Book Services.

Q: How long have you been in book publishing?
A: The principals of RDR Books have been publishing and writing books for more than 30 years. All of us have worked for large publishing houses and indepedent publishing companies. Before starting RDR we wrote, edited and packaged dozens of books for nationally known publishing companies. RDR is dedicated to publishing well known writers, recognized experts and promising newcomers. Together they offer readers a wide array of fascinating books you're sure to enjoy. A: Go to the Customer Service, Account Information page. This page lists all your orders. Click the date of the order whose status you wish to view.

Q: What are your shipping costs?
A: You can view an estimate of shipping costs by viewing your cart. Final shipping costs will be displayed on the invoice you see before confirming your order.
